Passion For Jesus Christ Part 2
Passion For Jesus Christ – Part 2
A passion for Jesus Christ is a deep and abiding love that inspires you to seek a closer relationship with Him. This passion often manifests as a desire to understand His teachings, share His message, and live out His values in everyday life. It involves a commitment to prayer, worship, and community, nurturing a transformative faith that influences thoughts, actions, and relationships.
This passion for Jesus Christ can lead to a profound sense of purpose. Motivating you to serve others, spread compassion, and reflect Christ’s love in a world that yearns for hope and healing. Ultimately, a passion for Jesus ignites a lifelong journey of devotion, growth, joy, and spiritual fulfillment.
Passion for Jesus involves a deep love and commitment to Him. Passion for Jesus is characterized by enthusiasm for His teachings, and a desire to please Him and live according to His word. Passion for Jesus is demonstrated in your life through intimacy in prayer, study of God’s word, service to others, praise and worship, evangelism, and discipleship of others.
Passion For Jesus Christ
In Part 1 of Passion For Jesus Christ we talked about how there is a lack of love and passion for Jesus in the end times. Many people believe the Bible is talking about unbelievers when it says that the love of many will grow cold.
But it is really talking about Christians in the end times. There is a distinct lack of “first love” devotion and passion for Jesus Christ in the modern day church. The kind of love and passion for Jesus Christ that drove the early church in Acts to surrender and sacrifice it all for their Lord.
The One Thing Vital to Ministry & Our Walk With The Lord
There is only one thing that can keep you going through it all, through good times or bad. Through successes or failures. Having a love and passion for Jesus Christ. Not a passion for ministry or for doing things for the Lord. But a real heart-felt passion for Jesus himself.
This type of fiery passion for the Lord is not in us naturally. Our natural love or devotion or passion will fail and will deny the Lord. Like when Peter denied Jesus 3 times. We do not like to think that we would deny Jesus, but without God’s grace we would.
Passion For Jesus Christ
A Great Lack of Passion In Today’s Modern Church
It is very obvious that there is a real lack of passion for the Lord in the church today. Especially in the church in the US. And it begins with the pastors and leaders at the top. Serving God full time has become a career or a way to make a good living for many.
Other things have taken first place in the lives of many believers. And many people are going through the motions and “playing church”. Jesus is not their First Love. Or their Treasure. Or their Passion in life.
God Needs To Touch Our Hearts
God needs to touch our hearts and fill us with the love and passion that was in Jesus, through the Holy Spirit. Jesus was fully surrendered and devoted to God in His life here on earth. He was filled with a Godly love, devotion, and passion for God. And for the things God is passionate about.
Then we will be truly faithful to the Lord Jesus, and we will have a great love and passion for Him. This is the type of person God is looking for, the type of person that He can use in great ways.
Paul Is A Great Example For Us to Follow
Paul was quite a different person before Jesus touched him. He was a very zealous and religious person. Well educated and trained in the Jewish religion and teachings. And he was a great persecutor of the church of Jesus Christ. And he agreed with the persecution and violence against the believers and followers of Jesus Christ.
“I thank Christ Jesus our LORD, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our LORD was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. – 1 Timothy 1:12-14
When Jesus touched and saved Paul, He transformed him. Paul was a completely different person after Jesus touched him. Verse 14 of 1 Timothy 1 shows us how Paul was transformed to be one of the most devoted and passionate followers of Jesus. The grace, and faith, and love (passion) that are in Jesus Himself were poured into Paul by the Holy Spirit.
Passion For Jesus Christ
Let Jesus Touch & Transform Your Heart
May Jesus touch and transform all of our hearts. And may Jesus fill us with His grace, and His faith. And His love and passion for God. Then we will be the type of servants that God can use to reach a lost and dying world. Then we will be people that God can use in mighty ways.
“The men and women our Lord sends out on His endeavors are ordinary human people. But they are people who are controlled by their devotion to Him, which has been brought about through the work of the Holy Spirit”. – Oswald Chambers
“I will give them a heart to know me.” – Jeremiah 24:7
“Give me an undivided heart.” – Psalm 86:1
