Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus is the source of abundant life, offering more than just physical existence and life. Jesus provides spiritual life, fulfillment, peace, and purpose. In the Bible, Jesus promises that those who come to Him will experience life to the fullest (John 10:10).

This abundant life is not defined by material wealth, but by a deep, transformative relationship with God. It is characterized by love, grace, and eternal hope. Through His teachings, sacrifice, and resurrection, Jesus invites people to experience true joy, freedom, and peace, both now and forever.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Christ is many things. The Son of God. One part of the Holy Trinity. The Messiah and Savior of the world. The  Great Physician and Healer. Counselor. And The Source of abundant life and eternal life.

“I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man may come to the Father except through me.”  – John 14:6

In this 3 part series we will look into how Jesus is The Source of everything you want and need. And we will look into all of the things that come with the abundant life that Jesus provides. Jesus very much wants you to have abundant life.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Is The Source Of Abundant Life

Whatever you are lacking or whatever is missing in your life, Jesus wants to give to you in overflowing measure. Go to Jesus with your emptiness, your need or hurt or problem. He is The Source and the Great Physician.

You will never have the full abundant life Jesus wants you to have unless you first have a restored personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  Then you need to be walking closely and obediently with Jesus. And fully committed and surrendered to Him. Without Jesus there is no salvation and restored relationship with God. And without Jesus there will be no abundant life for you in your life here on earth. And no eternal life in heaven once your life is done here.

Jesus IS the abundant life.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus desires for you to have a restored relationship with Him through repenting of your sins. And by placing your faith in Jesus and believing that He paid the price for your sins by dying on the cross. And believe that He rose again from death by the infinite power of God. You also need to surrender and commit your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Jesus wants you to have abundant life in your life here also. Once you have a restored relationship with Jesus, He wants to transform you to be more like Him. And He wants you to grow closer to Him and enjoy close fellowship with Him. And Jesus wants you to have abundant life, full of purpose and meaning. And full of joy, peace, and hope. Hope for this life and hope for eternity.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (abundant life).”   – John 10:10

“that you may be filled with the fullness of God – Ephesians 3:19   (full of Jesus’ love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, power, strength, faith, holiness, purity, righteousness,…)

” Whoever believes in me, streams of living water (abundant life) will flow from within him.” – John 7:38

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Is The Source Of Abundant Life

Jesus is the Source of all of the things you want and desire. Jesus supplies fulfillment, purpose, satisfaction, direction, guidance, wisdom… Jesus wants you to have abundant life. As you walk closely and obediently with Jesus, He will fill your life to overflowing with many spiritual riches.

Fulfillment, Purpose, Satisfaction

” I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry… and never go thirsty.” – John 6:35″

“…the one who feeds on me will live because of me.” – John 6:57

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters… why spend your labor on what does not satisfy ? Listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. – Isaiah 55:1-3

” … I will satisfy your needs…” – Isaiah 58:11

Direction, Guidance, Wisdom

When you need direction and guidance in your life, Jesus will provide it. And Jesus will provide Godly wisdom whenever you need it and humbly ask for it.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

“… I will guide you continually…” – Isaiah 58:11

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

” If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously…”   – James 1:5

” I am the Way…” – John 14:6

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Is The Source Of Abundant Life

Jesus wants you to have abundant life. He wants your life to be full of fulfillment, satisfaction, love, joy, peace, rest, health, wholeness… Jesus is The Source of all of these things. Only through a restored relationship with Jesus and then close fellowship with Him will you have all of these things that make up abundant life. Without Jesus there is no abundant life.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Wants To Fill You With Love

“God so loved the world (you and I) that he gave his one and only Son …”    – John 3:16

“God demonstrated his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

“… how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ for you.” – Ephesians 3:18

“God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 5:3

This love that Jesus wants to fill you with is “agape” love. It is the kind of selfless, self sacrificing love that Jesus demonstrated for you when He died on the cross for your sins. Jesus wants to fill your heart with His very own love and faithfulness and total devotion for God The Father. And Jesus wants to fill your heart with His love for others.

Jesus Wants To Fill You With Joy

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” – John 15:11

“I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices… you will fill me with joy in your presence…” – Psalm 16:8-9,11

” The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.” – Psalm 19:8

Many people confuse true joy with temporary happiness when circumstances are good. The joy that Jesus wants to fill you with is a supernatural joy that does not depend on circumstances. It is a joy that only Jesus can give you. It is a joy that only comes by having close fellowship with Jesus and by actively participating in God’s kingdom work and mission.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Wants To Fill You With Peace

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast (fixed on you), because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” – John 14:27

“The Lord is near. Do not be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanks-giving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:5-7

Only Jesus can give you true peace. Peace that fills you no matter what your circumstances are like. No matter what troubles or difficulties you are facing.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Wants To Give You Rest

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”  – 1 Peter 5:7

Whenever you face trials or difficulties that are too much for you to bear, run to Jesus. Jesus wants you to trust Him and totally depend on Him. And He wants to carry your burdens and give you rest. A rest that only Jesus can give you in the middle of the storms of life.

A key to this type of rest is first to have close fellowship with Jesus. Where Jesus is your First Love, Treasure, and Passion. And then to trust Jesus and run to Him with your burdens. And by faith cast your burdens into Jesus’ hands and let Him help you with them.

Another key to having Jesus’ rest is to “take His yoke upon you”. That means totally surrendering and letting go of your own will, desires, interests, and priorities. And then following Jesus’ will and His desires, interests, and priorities.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Healing, Health, Wholeness

“that you may be filled with the fullness of God” – Ephesians 3:19)

” He has sent me to preach good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners,… to comfort all who mourn… to bestow on them a crown of beauty, gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” – Isaiah 61:1-3

” Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise your name.” – Psalm 142:7

Names of God: “Jehova Rophe”- our healer, health, wholeness ;  Jesus – “The Great Physician”

Jesus wants to make you whole, and full of the spiritual riches that He wants you to have. And Jesus wants to bless you with these, so that you can bless others. Bless others with the gift of salvation and a restored relationship with God. And bless others to grow closer to Jesus and more like Him.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Not only can Jesus provide you with abundant life, He very much wants to. Jesus wants you to have abundant life full of the treasures only He can provide. Fulfillment, satisfaction, meaning, purpose, love, joy, peace, rest, guidance, wisdom… And there is much more that Jesus wants to give you.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Here are more of the great treasures that Jesus wants to give you. In addition to all of the great treasures that we have already talked about in Part 1 and Part 2 of “Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life”.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life – He Will Meet All Of Your Other Needs

Whatever you need Jesus wants to supply it. And He wants to supply it in overflowing abundance. The mistake most people make are they do not recognize that Jesus is the only One who can supply all of these things.

Most people look to the things of the world, or to other people to supply them. And sooner or later they find out that the things of the world promise many things, but rarely ever deliver. And the result is disappointment, discouragement, bitterness, and hopelessness.

Here are more of the spiritual riches that make up abundant life that Jesus wants to provide.

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Salvation

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

(also read 3:16, 14:6; Acts 4:12, 16:30-31; Romans 6:23, 10:9-10)

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Forgiveness

I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

(also read Isaiah 43:25, Psalm 103:12, Proverbs 28:13)

Jesus Provides Strength

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 “Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me – to keep me from exalting myself ! Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Philippians 4:12-13 “I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Contentment

Philippians 4:11-13 “Not that I speak from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

1 Timothy 6:6-8 “But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.”

Jesus Provides Power

John 15:5 ” I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.”

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Comfort

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Help

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

Hebrews 13:5-6 “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have. For He Himself has said, ” I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, ” The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.”

(also read Psalm 54:4, Psalm 46:1)

Jesus Empowers & Provides Confidence

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 “Such confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

Jesus Provides Victory

2 Corinthians 2:14 “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.”

(also read Exodus 17:10-15, 2 Chronicles 20:6,12,17; Proverbs 21:31)

Jesus Wants You To Have Abundant Life

Jesus Provides Hope

Hebrews 6:17-19 “In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which enters within the veil.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

(also read Psalm 38:22, 42:5, 71:4-5)

Go to Jesus with all of your needs and all you lack. And go to Jesus with your hurts and wounds. And most importantly go to Jesus for salvation and forgiveness for your sins. Jesus Christ will never let you down. And He will transform you and your life so that you will have the full abundant life Jesus promised.
