How To Be A Victorious & Fruitful Christian (Part 2)

What is the key to being a victorious & fruitful Christian ? The kind of Christian/Christ follower that God wants you to be.

In Part 1 we began to look at what it takes to be the victorious & fruitful Christian that God created you to be. Someone who God can use to further His kingdom work and mission.

How to Be A Fruitful & Victorious Christian

Education, Training, Experience, Zeal & Passion Are Important

Last week we looked at how things like education, training, experience, zeal and passion are important things. But they are not “The key thing” to be a victorious & fruitful Christ follower and servant.

It is interesting to see the people that Jesus hand picked to be His disciples. These are the people that would become the apostles and key servant leaders of the church. They would be entrusted to continue God’s kingdom work and mission in the world.

Jesus Chose Uneducated & Untrained Ordinary People

Jesus did not choose well educated or highly trained and skilled people. His hand chosen disciples were ordinary men. They were fishermen, a dreaded tax collector… But there was something about them that other people noticed.

“Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.” – Acts 4:13-14

“God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. And God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong. And the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are. So that no man may boast before God.” – 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

The One Key Thing To Be A Victorious & Fruitful Christian

The “one thing” that is absolutely vital to being fruitful is your fellowship with the Lord. Many people place their ministry for the Lord as the top priority and emphasis in their lives. They devote all of their time to their work and service.

And they end up leaving no time for fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Make no mistake, Jesus is our Source of power and victory and fruitfulness. If we are too busy, even in ministry, and if we do not emphasize our fellowship time with Jesus, then we will certainly not be victorious & fruitful servants.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me (lives in vital unity & fellowship) and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5

How to Be A Fruitful & Victorious Christian

Your Best Efforts Are Nothing Without Jesus’ Presence & Power

No matter how hard you try, and no matter how zealous and passionate you are in ministry, you can do absolutely nothing without Jesus. First you need to have a passion for Jesus, and not just for doing things for Him. Your love and passion for Jesus needs to drive you to spend critical fellowship time with Him, in prayer and in His word.

Love And Passion For Jesus

If you are not driven by love and passion for Jesus, then what can you do ? If you do not have this passion for Jesus, then confess it to Him. And pray and ask Jesus to rekindle a love and fiery passion for Him in your heart. He will do it.

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33

“but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:42

May God bless you and be able to use you greatly, for His glory.
