Biblical Strategies For Sharing The Gospel – Part 2

Biblical Strategies For Sharing The Gospel – Part 2

Biblical strategies for sharing the Gospel focus on communicating the message of salvation through Jesus Christ with love, boldness, clarity, and compassion. These Biblical strategies for sharing the Gospel highlight the importance of personal involvement, commitment, love, and reliance on God’s guidance and power to effectively share the Gospel with others.

In Part 1 of Biblical Strategies For Sharing The Gospel we looked at the first 2 methods the church in the Bible used to take the Gospel to others.

Now we will continue to examine the Biblical strategies that the early church in the Bible used to take the Gospel to their community, their nation, and the entire world.

3. Social Assistance Ministry And Events

The modern/liberal “evangelism” style of today’s church in the US is to replace sharing the Gospel with social assistance. Many churches today have some ministries where they help needy people and homeless people with food, clothes… And then they may try to pray with/for them. And that’s it.

This is not what Jesus called and commanded us to do. Of course Jesus wants us to help and care for the poor and needy. And for the homeless too. But Jesus does not want us to stop there.

Jesus is always most concerned about their greatest need. Their spiritual and eternal need for a Savior to save them from their sin. And from the eternal punishment, suffering, and separation from God that everyone who does not know Jesus as Lord & Savior is heading for.

And Jesus wants us to be very concerned about people’s great need – their need for a Savior. So much so that we are to try to take the Gospel to as many people as we possibly can.

Mark 6:30-34; 44 “The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things… The number of men who had eaten was five thousand.

Acts 3,4 – Peter & John & the lame man begging – they healed him – this drew many people & they used the opportunity to preach the Gospel (5000 saved)

Acts 9:36-41 (Tabitha/Dorcas – she ministered to needy women and reached many for Christ)

Biblical Strategies For Sharing The Gospel

Another strategy that the early church used was to preach the Gospel at events. Events like religious festivals, and other types of events. They took advantage of these events so that they could reach as many people as possible for Christ.

4. Preach the Gospel At Events

Acts 2 (Peter preached at the Festival of Pentecost. Many people from other nations and languages were in Jerusalem for the religious festival. Peter preached and 3000 men were saved)

Acts 3,4 (Peter & John healed a man, then preached the Gospel to a crowd at the synagogue. 5000 men were saved)

Acts 19:8-10 – Paul in Ephesus – Pauls preached for 3 months at the synagogue there. When they resisted him, he started preaching the Gospel at the school or lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for 2 yearsm until everyone in the region of Asia heard the Gospel

Church and community events such as VBS, Plays, Music events, Christmas events, Easter egg hunt, ministry for families, youth events, ministry for business people,… These events can and should be used to preach the Gospel, in order to reach as many people as possible for Jesus.

5. Personal Evangelism

Another strategy that the early church in the Bible used to spread the Gospel was one on one, person-to-person evangelism.

Acts 5:42 “And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”

Acts 8:26-39 (Phillip & the Ethiopian)

God has given us a great example for us to follow in the Bible. Everyone in the early church in the book of Acts were passionately devoted to Jesus. And they were willing to sacrifice, and even suffer and die for Jesus. And to do the things that Jesus called and commissioned them to do. Mainly take the Gospel out to as many as possible, and make disciples.

And they passionately and lovingly took the Gospel out to as many people as possible. When churches utilize all of the Biblical strategies that they used to take the Gospel to the lost, they will see God do many great things. And they will grow tremendously, both spiritually and numerically.

May more and more Christians and churches passionately and faithfully obey and follow Jesus. And do all that He has called and commanded us to do. The world would be a different and much better place if more of us would do our part.
