You Can Share The Gospel Of Jesus Christ With Confidence
Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence means proclaiming the good news of His love, sacrifice, and salvation with boldness and assurance. Knowing that God’s truth is powerful and transformative. It comes from a deep conviction of the hope and forgiveness found in Christ.
And the belief that the message can change lives. With confidence, believers can overcome fear and doubt, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide them. And that the gospel’s impact is not dependent on personal eloquence or ability, but on God’s ability and power to work through the message to produce the results that God wants.
Share The Gospel Of Jesus Christ With Confidence
In a previous article I wrote about how as followers or disciples of Jesus we are to obey all that Jesus has commanded. This includes the difficult things He commands us to do. For most people, sharing Christ and the Gospel with others is a very difficult thing to do.
Research has shown that 2% or less of Christians share Christ with others. Despite the command of Jesus in Matthew 4:19 for people to follow Him and be “fishers of men“, most Christians today are not doing it. There are various reasons for this. Some people are not fully committed to Jesus and willing to do everything He commands.
Others are not being taught that Jesus wants all of His followers to share the Gospel with others, not just pastors and missionaries. And some others are just not that concerned bout the eternal destiny of lost people.
The most common reason for many Christians to not share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence is fear. Most people are afraid to share Jesus with others. It is not a comfortable thing to do for many. Many Christians are afraid of the other person’s reaction. Or they are afraid of failing. Or they are afraid of doing it wrong, so they do not even try.Â
Today we start a 3 part series of articles that will hopefully help those who are afraid to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. In fact, God can help you to overcome your fear and become a bold and powerful witness to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence and power.
You Can Share The Gospel Of Jesus Christ With Confidence
Fear Of Sharing Jesus With Others
First, you need to know that fear never comes from God. God’s Word in 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” Fear comes from God’s enemy Satan.
God loves all people and wants them to be saved and have a restored relationship with Him and eventually spend eternity with Him in heaven. Satan on the other hand hates people, wants to destroy their lives, and ultimately wants people to spend eternity where he is going. One of the most effective weapons that he uses to try to stop people from being saved and having eternal life is to get God’s people to not share the Gospel with others, by making them afraid to do it.
With God’s help and the Holy Spirit providing boldness and courage, you can overcome this fear of sharing Christ with others. You can not only overcome the fear, but you can actually go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence.
Share The Gospel Of Jesus Christ With Confidence
Our confidence comes in knowing and understanding that when we faithfully and obediently share Christ with others, we are actually joining God in the Kingdom work He is doing. We are joining an unbeatable team of 3 parts. In this article we will discuss the 1st part of our unbeatable team of 3.
The 1st thing you need to understand: You are never alone in the work of sharing Christ with others. When you are faithful in being the witness God wants you to be, you are joining Him in His work.
John 5:17, 19-20 “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working…. I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does.”
Matthew 9:37 – “The harvest is great, but the workers are few”. God has prepared a great harvest, but we are not going out to share Christ as we should. God goes ahead of us and prepares hearts and the harvest.
Romans 8:37- In all these things we are more than “conquerors” in Christ who loves us.
The Greek word for conquerer – Hupernikomen – means that we are “super victors”. It suggests a victory where our enemy is already completely defeated !
When we join God in His work to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others, we are actually on God’s Unbeatable Team of 3.

#1 On The Team – God’s Powerful Word
When we share the Gospel we are sharing the powerful word of God. Many people do not realize the great power there is in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Â
Hebrews 4:12 – “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to the dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”.
The word of God and the Gospel penetrates to the spirit level of life. It judges the thoughts of the heart. And it converts and regenerates. The Word of God has the power to transform hearts and lives.
God Uses His Word & The Gospel To Accomplish What He Wants To
Isaiah 55:10-11 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout. And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater. So is my word that goes out of my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
God uses his word to accomplish his purposes and His kingdom work and mission. He is at work in the hearts and lives of many people today ! He is working to reach people who are separated from Him by their sins, trying to help them have a reconciled relationship with Him.
God promises that He will take our sharing the Gospel with others and He will accomplish what He wants to. When you faithfully obey Jesus and share the Gospel with others, God promises that He will use your efforts. And God promises that He will make sure your sharing will accomplish all the He wants.

There Is Great Power In The Gospel Message
Romans 1:16- “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to deliver from sin and change lives. The Gospel is in-breathed with the mighty life changing power of God. There is great power in the Gospel and in the name of Jesus ! Most of us do not understand how powerful God’s Word and the Gospel are. When we share the Gospel we are sharing the powerful Word of God and the powerful name of Jesus.
And it will accomplish what God wants to accomplish. God promises this, and God always does what He promises. His promises are guarantees. You do not need to worry about the results of your sharing Jesus with others. God will take care of the results, for His glory and name sake. The great power in the message is one of the reasons you can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence.

#2 ON THE TEAM – The WORK & POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
- Trusting in the Holy Spirit is extremely important when you share Jesus with others.
- The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in the process of sharing the Gospel and reaching lost people for Christ.
- Without the Holy Spirit we will never see fruit and victories when we share Christ with others. In John 15:5 Jesus said “apart from Him we can do nothing.” We can not do anything of eternal value or produce eternal spiritual fruit with Jesus’ Holy Spirit.
In Matthew 4:19 when Jesus said “Follow me” He did not say to try our best to be “fishers of men”. Jesus said the He will “make us fishers of men”. He is talking about if we will faithfully follow and obey His command to be fishers of men and share the Gospel with others, then He will empower us by the Holy Spirit. Jesus will not leave us alone in this mission, He will send the Holy Spirit to empower us to accomplish the mission.
Jesus says it a different way in Acts 1:8. These are Jesus’ last word on Earth to His disciples before He ascends back into heaven. Because they are His last words on Earth, they are very important words that he wants to share with His followers. In Acts 1:8 Jesus says “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
The Holy Spirit Provides
- We don’t need to worry about our weaknesses. The Holy Spirit will provide everything that we lack:
- If we lack confidence about what to say or how to say it:
- Mathew 10:18-20 “Because of me, you will be brought before rulers and kings to tell them and the people about your faith. Don’t worry about what you will say or how you will say it. At that time you will be given what to say, it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you!”
- If we are afraid to share Christ or you lack courage or confidence:
- Acts 4:29-31 “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus. After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
- Don’t let your fear cause you to disobey Jesus’ command in Matthew 4:19. The Holy Spirit can and will help you to turn your fear into boldness and courage for sharing Christ with confidence.

Step Out In Faith
If you step out in faith and share Jesus, the Holy Spirit will use you and empower you as His instrument. You can always trust in the Holy Spirit.
God is always at work through His Spirit in the life of every person. He is trying to draw people to Himself and wants them to be saved and have a reconciled relationship with Him, peace with Him, and eternal life in heaven with Him. In John 5:17-20 Jesus said this:
“To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working… Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does. The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. And to your amazement, He will show Him even greater works than these.”
Jesus is saying that God goes ahead of us and is working in the hearts and lives of lost people. When we pray for opportunities to share Christ (“divine appointments”), He will lead us to the people He is preparing. And God, through the Holy Spirit, will empower us to share the Gospel. Knowing that God is going ahead of you and will be with you when you attempt to share the Gospel will help you in sharing Christ with confidence.Â
The Holy Spirit will provide you with Power, Words, Boldness & Courage, or whatever you lack, to powerfully and effectively share Christ with others.

How The Holy Spirit Works
The Holy Spirit works in 2 places at the same time.
1) The Holy Spirit works to enable & empower us to share the mighty Word of God.
2) He works in the heart & life of the unbeliever and moves them toward conversion.
3.) The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgement. The Holy Spirit convinces the person he/she needs Jesus. He opens their spiritual eyes, and releases them from the darkness to the light, and takes them from the power of Satan to God (Acts 26:17-18). The Holy Spirit reveals truth to them.Â
It is not our job to convict people of their sin. And it is not our job to try to convince them that they are sinners and need a Savior. And convince them that Jesus is the only One who can save them from their sins and eternal punishment. It is not our job to reveal the truth of the Gospel, or to try to produce results and salvation for the people we are sharing with. These are the jobs and role of the Holy Spirit. We just need to be faithful and do our part… share the Gospel with others.
John 16:7-8 “But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.”

# 3 On God’s Unbeatable Team – Us – God’s Faithful Witnesses
We have the honor and the joy of being on God’s unbeatable team. And to join Him in His kingdom mission. Sharing the Gospel message with others is an important part of God’s plan for reaching the lost. We, the church, have the responsibility to share the Good News of Jesus with others.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
Jesus made it clear that if we are to truly follow Him, we must be “fishers of men”. Matthew 4:19 “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” A “fisher of men” is someone who loves Jesus and shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others in his/her daily life. A fisher of men does not need to go to Africa or far away places to share the Gospel. There are plenty of lost people in your circle of influence in your daily life.
All Christians Are To Be Witnesses
Acts 8:1-4 makes it clear that Jesus was commanding ALL of His disciples or followers to share the Gospel with others. Not just pastors or missionaries or full time ministry people or church leaders.
“And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles… Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.” – Acts 8:1,4
All of the regular people of the church faithfully preached the Gospel, wherever they went. Not just the apostles or pastors. Even during the difficulty of persecution against the church, everyone in the church faithfully obeyed Jesus’ command to be fishers of men.Â

The Holy Spirit And The Faithful Witness
When Jesus revealed the coming of his Holy Spirit to His disciples, He made it clear that both the work of the Holy Spirit and the witness of his followers are essential to His plan.
John 15:26-27- “I will send you the Spirit who comes from the Father and shows what is true. The Spirit will help you and will tell you about me. Then you will also tell others about me.”
The power of the Holy Spirit makes ALL the difference ! God will make you successful when you faithfully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He WILL accomplish what He wants to – Isaiah 55:11.
The believer witnesses and faithfully shares the Gospel with others. Then God gives the harvest and produces the results. This brings Glory to God (see John 15:8)
All we have to do is to do our part – be faithful & share Christ in love and in the power of the Holy Spirit, and then leave all the results to God. When we faithfully share the Gospel, God promises that we will always be victorious in Jesus Christ !!! There is no reason that you are not able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence.Â
God Produces The Fruit & Victories
2 Corinthians 2:14 “Thanks be to God, who always leads us victoriously in Christ, and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.”
The context of the verses before and after this verse shows that Paul was specifically speaking of sharing the Gospel with others If you will faithfully do your part, which is to share the Gospel with others, then the Holy Spirit will do His part, and God will make sure that everything He wants to accomplish will be accomplished. God produces the fruit and the results, for His glory and for His name sake.
