Mission Trips to Kenya & Uganda

Our Mission Trips to Kenya & Uganda

On Monday February 4 we will be travelling on missions trips to Kenya & Uganda. This is our 14th and final year in international missions. We started as self funded missionaries for 7 1/2 years in Brazil, and then in 2014 God led us to Florida and we started visiting up to 10 countries each year on mission trips.

We will be travelling on award flights from Delta Airlines, and sometimes on award trips you do not get the most direct route. In this case we fly from Knoxville TN to Atlanta, then overnight to Amsterdam, and then Amsterdam to Nairobi Kenya. We will arrive in Nairobi at 10 pm on Tuesday night. Then the next morning we will take a bus 7 1/2 hours from Nairobi to our final destination of Kisumu. Kisumu is located in the western section of Kenya with a population of 550,000 people.

Our Missions Week in Kisumu Kenya

We will be working with Rev. Chu Chu and the Lutheran Hour Ministry in Kisumu to share the Gospel in the community, and to preach and train churches in missions & evangelism. We will do our Quality Of Life project to speak & share the Gospel in various public schools and some private schools in Kisumu on weekdays. On Saturday Feb. 9 we will lead a People Sharing Jesus missions & evangelism training seminar for area churches, and then I will preach at a church on Sunday.

Missions Week in Uganda

On Tuesday Feb. 12 we will take a bus to Mbale Uganda for another week of missions. Mbale is located in the eastern region of Uganda, and has a population of 100,000 people. We were there last year, and this time we will work again with our friend Gideon at Scripture Union Uganda in the cities of Mbale and Tororo Uganda. We will speak in many schools in these cities on the weekdays, and then on Saturday Feb. 16 we will lead another missions & evangelism training seminar for churches in Mbale.

The Journey Home

On Sunday we will take a 14 hour bus from Mbale to Nairobi and stay 1 night, and then on Monday night we will start our long trip back home. We normally do not get the chance to do any tourist things on our mission trips, but this time we get to spend a 1/2 day touring Amsterdam on the way back. We will be very tired, but it should be very interesting and fun.

Please pray for us and for the churches we will be helping on our mission trips to Kenya and Uganda. Please also pray for the many students, teachers, leaders, and families that we will be sharing the Gospel with in the schools and communities. We are always very aware of the truth that Jesus said “Apart from me you can do nothing.”, and so we very much need your prayers. Also, we always experience a great deal of spiritual warfare, so prayers are very important and very valuable to us.
