Meditating on God’s Word means deeply reflecting on and contemplating the teachings of the Bible. It goes beyond just reading Scripture. It involves focusing on specific passages, allowing them to sink into your heart and mind, and seeking to understand and apply them to your life.
This practice helps cultivate a closer relationship with God, strengthens faith, and brings wisdom, peace, and guidance. By meditating on God’s Word regularly, believers can grow in spiritual maturity, align their thoughts with God’s will, and experience transformation through the power of Scripture.

In Part 1 we began to learn the vital importance of meditating on God’s Word in order to discern and know what God is saying to you. Hearing God’s voice is the most important part of your prayer & fellowship time with God.
Understanding what God is saying to you is difficult if you do not know how to properly read and interpret the Bible. It is essential to learn to properly read God’s word, and observe as much as you can while you read His word. Then you need to meditate on God’s word before you try to interpret what God is saying or trying to teach you.
Now we will continue to learn more about how to meditate on God’s Word the Bible.

As You Read & Meditate On God’s Word The Bible, Think About How You Can Apply It In Your Life
Ask the question “How can I do this / apply this / follow this in my life ?
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says… But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in all he does.” – James 1:22,25
Simply quickly reading God’s Word is not enough to bring about the transformation that God desires to do in you. And it is not enough to be able to determine what God is saying to you, and how He is trying to teach you. You need to meditate on God’s word the Bible so you will be able to properly interpret it and then apply it into your life. Applying God’s Word into your life is vitally important to walk closely with God.
Memorize God’s Word, And Treasure It & Keep It In Your Heart
When God is your First Love, and your Treasure & your Passion, you will regard God’s Word as a great treasure. There is great spiritual treasure in God’s word. It takes time and effort in order to find the great truths and treasures in the Bible. God must also reveal these great truths and treasures to you. As you seek God with all your heart through His Word and through prayer, God will reveal them to you.
“I have hidden (treasured) your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13
“Now set your heart and soul to seek the LORD your God.” – 1 Chronicles 22:19
Meditate On God’s Word The Bible
Keep A Spiritual Journal. Write Down The Verses And What God Is Saying To You
This will help you to keep track of and remember what God is saying to you and how He is leading you. It is good to reflect on these things as you read your entries in your spiritual journal. It is also very encouraging to look back to see how God faithfully and personally worked in and through your life.
We will continue to study in Part 3 how to meditate on God’s word in order to observe as much as possible and then discern what God is saying.
