The Keys To Abundant Life Part 2
The Keys To Abundant Life – Part 2
Abundant life in Jesus, as described in the Bible, refers to a life filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment through a relationship with Jesus. This is rooted in John 10:10, where Jesus speaks of coming to give life “more abundantly.”
For believers, this abundant life encompasses growing in your relationship with Jesus, peace, and the assurance of God’s love and grace. Living abundantly in Jesus also involves following His teachings, experiencing forgiveness, and finding hope amid challenges. And ultimately leading to eternal life with Him.
In Part 1 of The Keys To Abundant Life we reviewed what Jesus said about abundant life in the Bible. Jesus said that He came to earth so people can have eternal life and abundant life. He also warned us about “the thief”, our enemy Satan. We also looked at how Jesus is The Source of eternal life and abundant life. And we reviewed what abundant life is.
Now we will continue to look at more of the keys to abundant life.
The Keys To Abundant Life
2 Important Keys To Abundant Life
Two of the reasons why so many Christians are missing out on God’s best for their lives and the abundant life are found in Matthew 6:33.
“Seek first for God’s kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you.”
“His righteousness” in Matthew 6:33 refers to our fellowship with God. This verse is not referring to salvation and a restored relationship with Jesus. It refers to what happens next. It is about the quality and importance of our fellowship with God.
Your Fellowship With Jesus Is An Important Key To Abundant Life
Many Christians do not have abundant life because quite simply their relationship and fellowship with God is not the top priority in their life. It is not the one thing that is absolutely most important in their life. But it needs to be in order to have abundant life.
Since Jesus is The Source of abundant life, you have to have close fellowship with Him. You have to work regularly on your fellowship with Jesus. And it needs to be the top priority in your life. Close fellowship with Jesus is actually God’s main call for your life.
“God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:9
God’s Kingdom Is Another Of The Important Keys to Abundant Life
Another reason many Christians do not have abundant life ? The building of God’s kingdom is not one of the first or top priority in their lives. Matthew 6:33 tells us “Seek first for the kingdom of God…”
You will never have the abundant, victorious, fruitful, joyful, satisfying life until God’s kingdom becomes a top priority in your life. You need to commit to actively and faithfully share Christ with others, and to making disciples.
Jesus says in Matthew 4:19 “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Unless you are a “fisher of men” (a person who actively & faithfully shares Christ with others) you are not truly following Jesus, The Source of abundant life. You must walk closely with Jesus, The Source, and truly follow and obey Him, or you will never experience abundant life.
You Must Be A “Fisher of Men” to Have Abundant Life
” I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” – Philemon 1:6
Look at Philemon 6 above. It is a very interesting verse. Actively sharing Christ with others (being a faithful witness for Christ) is vital if you want to experience all that God wants for you. This key is tied in to having close fellowship with Jesus. In order to have intimacy with God and close fellowship with Him, you must do everything that He commands you to do.
In Matthew 4:19 Jesus says to His followers: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” This is a command to be a “fisher of men”. Someone who actively in their daily life is working to share the Gospel with as many people as they can.
If we Christians are not living the ways we have looked at, then we are not truly following Jesus. We are not fully obeying Him. And we will not have close fellowship with Him or abundant life. The abundant, fruitful, victorious life that God wants us to have. This type of life brings great glory to God.
“My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” – John 15:8
